Elpis interior – An Interior Design that is Intimate and Exciting
Elpis Interior created a modern, sophisticated and chic looking 4-room BTO flat. Anyone would probably be too stunned to speak if they walked into this home for the first time.
Although the colours used are dark and intense, the designers still managed to keep the home interesting to look at. The attention to detail is what makes this home so fascinating and just demonstrates the level of skill and expertise that the interior designers at Elpis Interior has.
Living room
The living room is mainly covered in dark wood that is complemented by deep blue walls. You’ll notice the carved-out display shelf on the cabinet that allows the designers to decorate the room further with subtle trinkets, such as memorabilia, flowers, or even scents that further set the mood of the room.
There is also a cosy little reading corner that is dim enough to create an intimate space but also bright enough such that you can read with ease.
The living room adopts a nostalgic Manhattan apartment-like look. The black Venetian blinds limits the amount of light coming into the room. The work space is separated from the rest of the living room by a wall and clear glass panels that provides you with a comfortable working environment.
Dining room & kitchen
Green and blue are next to each other on the colour wheel. When paired together, they create a refreshing combination. In this more mysterious and dramatic home, the deep blue of the living room is matched with an equally bold green in the kitchen.
The green cabinets are accompanied by white countertops and backsplashes to prevent the green from becoming too overwhelming.
The design of the kitchen is very chic and looks like its straight out of a magazine. The subtle floral décor ties the entire kitchen together well.
You might have also noticed the hexagonal floor tiles and the unique star-shaped detail that enhances the classy yet slightly nostalgic look of the kitchen. This is a prime example of the designers’ attention to detail.
Bedroom
In the bedroom, we are back to the deep blue and dark wood. There is minimal white in the bedroom so as to dim the room and create a more intimate space.
The closet is tucked behind the dark wooden cabinets and have in-wardrobe lighting to combat the dim room.
Bathroom
The bathroom has a very contemporary design and is pretty much the only room in the home that adopts a brighter colour scheme. This is for both practical and aesthetic reasons as the bathroom needs to have sufficient light to navigate safely and a bright space is needed to contrast with the rest of the darker and dramatic home.
In the other bathroom, the designers still included elements of moodiness and incorporated this more dramatic section of the bathroom consisting of the sink and black-lined mirror.
The bathroom wall tiles are made of porcelain to create a glossy finish and is also waterproof which can prevent water stains from showing up.
