If there is one occasion that will spur most homeowners to do the quickest spring cleaning stint, it is when they know a guest is due to arrive soon. One of the first places to check, even if your home is in spick and span condition, is the bathroom. For HDB owners, bathroom sizes aren’t exactly what we consider spacious, and when you are expecting a guest, the first instinct is to clear the clutter created from our previous visit to the bathroom.
However, there are solutions to this first-world problem. Not to worry, they won’t cost a bomb because you can get them all from Shopee. Once those purchases arrive and you set them up, you can give your bathroom five stars because clutter will cease to exist.
Glass Jar Storage ($30.44 - $60.49)

These jars aren’t exactly cheap, but they are beautiful and will elevate the way your bathroom looks.
Now, what do you use these gorgeous jars for?
Firstly, get rid of all the plastic bags that hold your bathroom items like cotton balls, wax strips, disposable razors, shampoo and bath samples you snagged from hotel stays. Don’t throw it though, because it all can be recycled.
Second, place all these items into these jars where you can clearly see them. What used to be items you stuff in your drawer before a guest arrives can be displayed.
Plus, it helps you to remember that you still have Q-tips at home and you don’t have to buy another packet when you think you’ve misplaced them.
Swivel Towel Rail ($12.90)

The wall has only so much space to air your wet towels after a bath, however, this wall-mounted rack can hold four at a time without taking much wall space. When not in use, it can be pushed toward the wall to create a two-dimensional 'hanger' that will not take as much real-estate space as compared to having four different rails screwed to the wall.
This wall-mounted rack can be adjusted to a variety of positions, allowing you to spread towels out for quicker drying, or to store four towels in the "footprint" of one (when collapsed).
This particular model can hold up to five kilogrammes - no drilling required!
It comes with a suction cup, so it is super easy to install and remove. If you are staying in a rented unit, look no further and get this rack!
Wall-Mounted Outlet Shelf ($19.00)

Sockets in the bathroom are dangerous but crucial. Therefore, if you want to ensure all electronics are connected to its socket and are still a safe distance from any splash of water, we recommend getting this wall-mounted outlet shelf.
It helps save space, and if you like bringing in your portable speakers to the bathroom so you can sing in the shower, this mount is where you can place them safely. For air dryers, hair curlers and other electronic items you may use, placing them here while you charge allows you to use the equipment without any fear of being electrocuted.
It comes with a built-in cord management system so you can tuck away the cords neatly. Made from premium ABS material, it also protects the outlet.
Coordinated Shampoo Bottles ($1.59 - $ $1.79)

For some, purchasing coordinated shampoo bottles is a waste of money. But before you dismiss this point and move on to the next, think about how coordination brings orderliness.
Take a good look at your bathroom and check out the multiple shampoos and soap bottles there are. Some of them may be half-used, some almost emptied, but it is still good for one more wash (when you remember to use it). All these many brands and colours can make your bathroom look messy, even if it is not.
A minimalist approach to this ‘mess’ is to transfer these products into a matching set of bottles. They are not expensive, and yet, they will change the outlook of your bathroom.
Once you empty the bottles, you can clean them and recycle them right away. If you have a packaging-free store near you, you can omit the use of single-use plastic by filling these bottles with the product you need.
Clear Bins and Organisers ($2.96 - $9.98)

It is pretty difficult to not mention clear organisers and bins when it comes to decluttering. These handy organisers are essential for almost every area of the home.
There are a few places in the bathroom where you can introduce these acrylic organisers:
1. In drawers - lay them like how you would with the blocks in a game of Tetris until everything fits perfectly. Then, place the items neatly according to their function. If it needs a cover, ensure the covers are also clear so you can see what is where once you open the drawer.
2. In shelves - it does not matter if they are open or closed shelves, clear bins are still classy and functional no matter where they are placed. It also motivates you to place the items you keep inside neatly because you can always see them. Also, you’ll never fear misplacing any item.
If you want the items to be more easily identifiable, add labels on each container.
