Intimate and Intricate - A Home Interior Project

Starting from the living room, we can already see the designer’s hand at setting a suitable ambience. The light strip that runs across a section of the ceiling creates a unique backlit look that emphasizes the contrast between light and dark.

The space is accented with a deep black that is found in the shelves, windowpanes, and furniture. This darkens the space a little bit in order to achieve a more mysterious look.

The dining space was made with the homeowners in mind and is a cozy 2-seater table next to the living room hallway. The highchairs are reminiscent of bar stools, giving the space a classy look.

Mirrors in homes are always so ingenious because they create the illusion of space.

In the kitchen, we see two more stools set in front of a wall-mounted elongated table. This is quite a contemporary look as it has a very clean and neat aesthetic. The black furniture and cabinets look ethereal under the strip lights.

The stools in the kitchen may also function as a cozy work space. The convenient placement of a wall plug and the comfortable table height were well chosen by the designers in creating a conducive work space.

The bedroom, although dark and sophisticated, shows that dark doesn’t have to mean intimidating. The homeowners love their stuffed toy and we can see that the stuffed toy seems to be lying really comfortably on the bed.

Again, we see the use of backlit lights that translates into a cohesive theme for the entire home. The wooden panel behind the backboard is a great use of vertical lines to lend added height to the room.

The cabinet is placed adjacent to a display cabinet. This was made for homeowners who have more bags, toys, or other accessories that would be better placed in a display case than squished at the back of a cabinet.

Of course, the designers did not forget to add lighting inside the display case and above the cabinet.

The designers demonstrate how lighting can change the ambience of a room. Natural lighting gives the bathroom a more rustic and refreshing vibe, the white light gives sufficient illumination to see everything, while warm lights give a dimmer appearance that is suitable for nighttime.

The bathroom has a compact layout that fully maximizes the space. The dark wooden panels of the cabinet and shower floor are a nice textural addition to the space. Just like the rest of the home, we also see black accents and backlighting tying the space together.
