Take a look at this home renovation project in Bedok North that features earthy colours with a slightly oriental undertone.
Living room
The living room was designed to look comfortable and inviting. The earthy colour palette gives you a sense of calmness that is usually associated with nature. Brown tones can also evoke a sense of stability. The clear glass display next to the television allows you to store your trinkets and the awards you have accumulated over the years systematically. The backlights also create a more intimate and elegant setting.
Kitchen
The kitchen is a quaint little space for your cooking adventures. The light-coloured wooden cabinets helps to reflect light well, making the space look brighter. The interesting patterns on the wallpaper help to make the kitchen look dynamic and introduces a splash of colour that adds vibrancy. The kitchen was designed with many pull-out drawers that can store your cake ingredients and can be retrieved at your convenience.
Dining area
There are 2 designated dining areas in this home: one right by the kitchen and one in the living room. The kitchen’s dining area adopts a counter-top seating concept with chairs aligned on one side of the island. This is reminiscent of counter seats at a bar or even at old diners that we often see in movies. The dining area in the kitchen has a more formal setup for when you’re hosting guests. The oriental concept shines through here with the use of Asian-inspired décor and paintings.
Bedroom
The bedroom almost looks as if it came from a fairytale cottage but was adapted to today’s world. The soft, warm glow from the headboard combined with the sleek white windows create an ethereal feeling. This emphasis on natural elements is also seen through the wooden finishing on most of the furniture in the room. The wall-mounted television is also an interesting feature as you can view your favourite shows from the comforts of your bed without straining your eyes.
Bathroom
The designers found smart ways to make this bathroom look bigger by using mirrored cabinets. This creates the illusion of depth and makes the bathroom look less crammed. Since the bathroom is rather small, the designers kept the décor to a minimum, so you have sufficient space to store your toiletries. They have also included lengths of tiles with patterns like the ones in the kitchen, to liven up the bathroom and, prevent it from looking dull.
