Simplicity is Key – Diva’s Interior
There are few things in life that are more comforting than coming home after a long day at work or school and being greeted by a welcoming atmosphere. While the people in the home create the atmosphere, the interior design of a home can also greatly enhance this feeling of relief and calmness.
From the colours of the walls to the rugs on the floor, and even the tiny trinkets that decorate your shelves, all of these little elements come together to create a beautiful home that will surely make you look forward to coming home every day.
Diva’s Interior has pretty much perfected this craft of making a house seem like a home. They took a simpler approach with this project in Northshore Drive but we can see the conscious efforts made by the designers to make the home more personal.
Living room
A case in point would be the living room. At first glance, you may think this doesn’t seem like much but if you really take a look at individual elements, you’ll realise that there are small details that create a homey look. From the cute knick-knacks on the shelf to artisanal wooden chairs, it seems like the designers wanted to incorporate a cottage-like look to this modern apartment.
The choice of a wooden background for the television elevates the cottage-like aesthetic by making the living room look brighter and more lively.
This design includes a hidden surprise as well as it includes a concealed door into a separate room / storage space, which is especially useful for keeping items and clutter out of sight.
Dining area
We see more wooden details in the dining room where the dark wooden dining chairs and table contrasts against light wooden shelves right behind it. The trio of spotlights above the table create an intimate setting and ensures sufficient lighting in the space.
Kitchen
In contrast to the rest of the home so far, the kitchen has a more modernistic style. The white countertop and cabinets are set against a glass backsplash that is the epitome of elegance. This white kitchen looks clean and organized.
Bedroom
The bedroom features the same off-white and blue colours that we have seen in the dining area. However, the textural difference of the cabinet doors subtly changes the ambience to one that is calmer and more elegant, which is perfect for the bedroom.
The blackout curtains are also a good touch to the room that maintains a completely dark room even after the sun has risen.
Bathroom
Bathrooms in most homes tend to be quite small. That is probably why the designers decided to keep the layout and design simple. This actually helps in creating the illusion of a larger space and keeps the area organized.
